just got this notification from my bank - is it fraud

Credit card ending xxxx

Date 06/25/2022

Amount $1,000.00

Merchant details APPLE RETAIL VOICEAUTH in CUPERTINO CA USA

Trying to understand if I mad the right judgement? Is this fraud.

The above is a notification that I received from my bank - I for sure did not spend $1,000 at Apple Retail in this time frame. So I did the needful & contacted my bank reported the fraud and now the card is cancelled - which is a huge pain the as.

Is this issue because I link my credit card to Apple Pay?

What can I do to protect from this happening again?
