Returning engraved third gen. AirPods

I was thinking about buying the third gen. AirPods, but I would be getting them engraved and I am not sure whether they're going to be a good fit as I find the regular AirPods comfy and some people have said the third gen. fall out of their ears. I wanted to make sure that if I bought them and they're not a good fit, could I still return them even though they're engraved and have been tried on?


...Also could someone advise me on how you even go about returning an item to apple if you bought it online? I have no apply stores near me to return in-person, so does a courier come to collect it from where I live or how does it work?

Those are great questions! You are able to return engraved items. You're just not able to exchange them. From the Shopping Help page:

The only exchange exceptions are personalized items (such as engraved iPhone, iPad, or AirPods) and Macs that have been custom-configured. These items cannot be exchanged in store; they can only be returned and your refund will be issued to the payment method you used on your order (per the guidelines in our Standard Return Policy).

To return an item, you should be able to ship it back using a prepaid label. This information can be found on the Shopping Help page here (you may need to change to your region to see region specific information): Returns & Refunds - Shopping Help - Apple
