So running macOS 12 and using disk utility to repair a 4TB HDD volume. It's been running for 7hrs so far at the "Repairing volume" state. Not sure if this is typical or there is an issue with disk utility. I feel something else is the issue.
Anyone have a similar experience in large HDD volume repairs.

When you initiated the the repair, did you follow the steps provided in How to repair a Mac disk with Disk Utility? A 4TB HDD is very large and depending on the amount of content and the issue that needs to be repaired it can take several hours to repair. Have you noticed any movement in the repair? How long has it been reporting 7 hours?
