Samsung C480FW cannot be used as scanner with macOS 12.4

Our SAMSUNG C480FW (shown as Samsung C48x (SEC84251912EF27) ) Printer&Scanner works fine as a printer(!) with iPad, iPhone and MacBook Air macOS 12.4.

By default, the Printer&Scanner device does not show as a scanner in macOS. "Capture Image" ("Digitale Bilder" in German) does not show the device. Not via network, nor when connected via USB/USB-C cable.

Searching for a solution, I downloaded the driver provided by HP (who took over support for Samsung printers) here: https://support.hp.com/ch-de/drivers/selfservice/closure/samsung-xpress-sl-c480-color-laser-multifunction-printer-series/16462546?ssfFlag=true&sku=

After installation, "Capture Image" did actually show the device as a scanner, as depicted in the picture. Although I cannot use it because of whatever security issues.

I ask for advice how to use the scanner of the c48x with my macBook. It works perfectly fine with our Windows PCs, both USB-connected or as network device ("scan to PC").
