Changes on iCloud products, giving wrong passwords

It is the second time I am hearing this trouble. One time user changes its phone (from Xr to 13 Pro) and after this, password were not entering correctly/wrong password on iPhone (Keychain was on). They had to be updated one by one. Second time is another user, after removing old iPad and iPhone, the given passwords weren't correct and again had to be updated again but this time on the Mac. The only similarities is that they had a change in their iCloud products. What should be done to avoid this?

Thanks,

Alec

Hi Alec2711,

If an iCloud password is forgotten or the error states it's entered incorrectly, it can be reset using the steps here: If you forgot your Apple ID password

Additionally, another trusted device can be used to verify.

"Use a trusted phone number, trusted email, recovery key, or account recovery contact

  • In some cases, you might be able to reset your password using a trusted phone number and trusted email.
  • If you use a recovery key for account security, you can use it to help reset your password on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Learn more about using a recovery key
  • If you already set up an account recovery contact, your account recovery contact can help you reset your password on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Learn more about using an account recovery contact. "

You can also double-check the correct information is being entered by signing into the iCloud website to manage the account. Manage and use your Apple ID

If these are managed devices, there's information about using iCloud Keychain with MDM here: iCloud for Apple platform deployments - Apple Support

Cheers.
