Broadband Dongle.

I have recently lost my ADSL Broadband connection because of the ISP's router went faulty.

I tried using an Alcatel LinkKey 4G LTE USB Dongle with a 3G Sim installed. To get online while waiting for a replacement router.

I could not set up this broadband dongle on my MacBook Pro 2015. It appears to be using a 32 bit system and the Mac Book will only work with 64 bit devices since Catalina 10.15. I have the Monterey OS installed 12.4.

I managed to get it to run on a Windows 10 laptop.

I am a novice in this matter. I would still like to get a mobile broadband dongle,64 bit, that will work with my MacBook.

I do not want to buy one and find, as with the Alcatel, that is not suitable. I only want it as a backup if I ever lose the ADSL Broadband. As has happened twice lately.

Have put what I am looking for, Broadband Dongle 64 bit, into a search and most results seem to be for a usb wi-fi adapter.

If anyone could advise me about this, I would be oibliged, as after a lot of time on this matter, have got nowhere.

raymondfromliverpool. Thanks.
