My contacts have disappeared. I tried to import them from the cloud without success, it show the same 2 cards as before. (I have several hundred). I can still access them in apple mail. How do I get them back into my contact app? Thanks, Steve

You could try restoring them from a Time Machine backup: Finder menu Go > Go To Folder and key in ~/Library/Application Support 

Find AddressBook and highlight it, then enter Time Machine and restore AddressBook from an earlier timeline.
