I increased the volume on Google Maps, but it's still really low on my iPhone.

I changed Google Maps setting to “louder” and volume is still really low on iPhone 12. Changing ringer volume has no effect. Any suggestions?

Wait for the voice to give directions then increase the volume whilst she/he speaks using the volume buttons or steering wheel buttons if on Carplay.

Similarly when music or radio is playing (navigation not speaking) turn volume down

iPhone volume buttons are always situational provided the "change with buttons" is turned on in Settings, Sounds...
