Hi, reload is a way of forcing quit and reopening the finder again. However, if you must quit Finder: Go to Activity Monitor(app) > find Finder > Go to the bar on the activity monitor's window and find the circle with an "x" label(shaped as the close button), and click quit(or force quit). Finder then won't open until you click it on the dock.

You can also quit the Finder, like any other application Finder->Quit or press Command-Q.
If the Finder is stuck, Relaunch, then Quit.
I did the relaunch and ended up at the same place, it wouldn’t let me quit.
Thanks I’ll try it.
