Hi, I have an iphone13 pro max. Today I received an sms message asking "how are you?" I replied "I don't know this number who are you?" Next thing I received was a picture of a woman saying Hi, I am Alice." I never click on any links or pictures from any spam messages. But this picture popped up against my will. So will this infect my iphone?

No, you block the number and then delete the text.

There is nothing that can infect your phone, even if you accidentally click a suspicious link.
Thank you for clearing that out but can you be more elaborate? I want to figure out how the Iphone behaves. She sent me a picture in the messages, this picture pops out in the messages, I see the picture, this means the iphone processed this picture. So if this photo was infected what does the iphone do to make this ineffective? Or it doesn’t work that way? I just want to understand how the process works to take precautions. Thank you.
