M1 Max Macbook Pro Semi-Freeze
I've had my M1 Max MacBook Pro for almost a year now. I ordered it the first day they became available for preorder. In the beginning the machine was fantastic. I was most impressed by the fact that I was able to run all of my apps on the new CPU architecture with very few incompatibility exceptions. Additionally, the machine has been very quiet and fast which was a huge change from my Intel based TouchBar MacBook Pro I had before.
However, now that I've been using it as my main machine for a while, I'm getting a lot of stability issues with browsers installed on this machine. It doesn't matter if I'm using Safari, the new Chromium based Edge, Chrome, or FireFox, after so long, all of the tabs will just freeze. The content will stop loading and it will not recover. There have been some times that it had to reboot itself forcefully as a result of the crash. If I try to close anything out while its stuck like this, the app will freeze and won't close. Additionally, all of the other apps running will freeze as well. It doesn't mater if the Terminal is running the background or Notes, I will have to try and "Force Quit" them several times to get them all reopened and functional again. Sometimes I have to go through this process 2 or 3 times in a single day.
I checked for updates and my Mac says its up to date on 12.4.
This is just getting old. I really hope apple can get this all figured out soon. I'm actually considering switching back to my Intel Mac for the meantime because of it.
