Apple News+ Redirects From App

I've been reading Bon Appétit magazine using my Apple News+ subscription on my iPhone 13. Many of the articles contain links to recipes or related content made by Bon Appétit. When I tap on the link I am typically redirected to the webpage on Safari. I am not able to read the article because I hit a pay wall on the Bon Appétit website.

My work-around is to search for the given article by the title in the News app. This is mildly infuriating, especially after I lose my spot in the original article. I assume that this affects more Channels that Bon Appétit.

I suppose there is no way for the Bon Appétit website to recognize my Apple New+ subscription? If not, then is there an easier way to redirect the article back to the app?
