Does the iPhone 13 Pro camera need to be protected?

Does the camera need to be protected I have read and many say it is sapphire and will not get damaged. I really do not want it damaged and I keep it in my pocket and have broken 4 camera protectors.

The lens cover used in the iPhone itself is more durable than camera protectors. That's why extra camera protectors might get broken by things that the lens cover the iPhone come with.

I've never used a protector for my camera and have never had any issue with it being scratched or cracked. Although, I've scratched an earlier iPhone screen by putting it in the same bag as keys. The camera were undamaged.

iPhone Cameras are made with sapphire, making them much tougher than glass. I’ve seen people drop iPhones to concrete with the cameras facing down, and they would be fine. I don’t think keys in a pocket would be much of an issue, but I would try to keep your keys in a different pocket then your phone. Those protectors are much less durable then the cameras themselves. They can usually be made out of regular glass or even plastic. They don’t do much protection. I hope this helped!
