someone has my phone and i do not want to see my chat in whatsapp please delete or deactive it

I don't really use WhatsApp, so no I do not..
Does the person who has your phone know the iPhone passcode? If not, they can't get in to see those chats anyways right? (other than maybe what shows on the Lock Screen)
