how to edit draft email message

I have written a draft email message, and stored it in the Drafts folder of an IMAP email account. I want to continue adding to the message.

On my iPad, I can access the message and make changes and additions.

However, on the Mac, I can access the draft message (including changes made with the iPad), but I cannot edit it further. If I try to delete a word to phrase, the whole message is deleted (I was able to use Undo to recover it), and if I try to type over something or add something new, I get a beep, but no change made to the text.

On my iMac I double click on the draft to open it in a separate window where it's editable.

I see. Unfortunately I don't use Mail enough to troubleshoot your issue. I can't reproduce the problem on my devices. If I create a draft on one of my Macs, I can access it on my iPads and iPhone, and vice versa.
