Can i boot to Windows on an SSD attached to a USB hub?

Good morning! I'm preparing to begin the process of installing Windows on an external Samsung T7 SSD and using Bootcamp to boot my 2020 Macbook Air M1 into Windows. The challenge is, I have zero ports to spare. I have a Hyperdrive USB dock connected to my Macbook, and I plan to plug the SSD into that. Before I spend the money on the SSD and copy of Windows, I wanted to see if you see any potential issues with that, either during the installation or when booting to the drive?

Thanks for your advice!

M1 Macs do not support Boot Camp nor production versions of Windows.

Microsoft does not support installing and running Windows on an external drive.
