I sent my old ipad air 2 for trade in to apple. I received email they cant process until i erase device and remove account in find my phone at icloud.com. I initiated the erase device, but since the device offline, it wont trigger the erase. How to proceed?

I doubt that the Apple User community can help here, best to call Apple Support so they can locate that device for you and turn it on whilst you do remote erase. Sorry, couldn't be of much help.
