I bought a locked Apple Watch

my husband bought an Apple Watch from someone on Facebook marketplace but he did not know that it was locked and we can’t find the person that’s selling it what can we do now?

The previous owner needs to go to https://www.icloud.com/find/ and erase the device, then remove it from their account. If they won't do that, the device is useless. Apple won't unlock it.

Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support. *

The person that you bought/got this watch from needs to follow all the steps on this page;

Remove the Activation Lock so that the buyer can use it.

If they can't or won't then get your money back or recycle the watch and mark it down as a bad experience.
