what is the user _accessoryupdater in activity monitor?

Hi i have this user in activity monitor : _accessoryupdater but i found nothing in web for exemple the process is disnoted, UARPUpdaterServiceDisplay, UARPUpdaterServiceUSBPB, UARPUpdaterServiceHID, EAUpdaterService and accessoryupdaterd.


and the user name with underscore at the beginning it all safe (mac process) or not necessarily?

Where can I find list of safety user or process ?

According to Directory Utility, it is the user associated with the Accessory Update Daemon.

Where can I find list of safety user or process ?

I don't think there is one, short of someone dumping the Directory Utility users after initial setup.

Apple doesn't document much, at least publicly.

Almost every tool in macOS has an associate user which handles the tasks done by the tool following the principle of least privilege.
