Leaked passwords

Where does Apple get the information from about leaked passwords? I have permanently 50+ messages that my „passwords were found in a data-leak“, regardless how save and random the passwords are. For some sites like e.g. YouTube or Facebook I get such a message about every week 😏

Delete the messages.

These are scam messages that are trying to trick you into revealing your Apple ID, Password, Payment Information, etc.

Just a few minutes ago, I received a message that my account at Bank of America was going to be suspended unless I responded immediately to the link in the message. How do I know this is a scam? I don't have a Bank of America account. Even I did, I would never respond using the info in the message, I would log on to my account....and find that no such notices exist.
