Leaked passwords

Where does Apple get the information from about leaked passwords? I have permanently 50+ messages that my „passwords were found in a data-leak“, regardless how save and random the passwords are. For some sites like e.g. YouTube or Facebook I get such a message about every week 😏

Delete the messages.

These are scam messages that are trying to trick you into revealing your Apple ID, Password, Payment Information, etc.

Just a few minutes ago, I received a message that my account at Bank of America was going to be suspended unless I responded immediately to the link in the message. How do I know this is a scam? I don't have a Bank of America account. Even I did, I would never respond using the info in the message, I would log on to my account....and find that no such notices exist.

If you have a password with common words in it, the chance is great that that word is leaked. Or if you use the same passwords for multiple things, then is only one leak neccessary. Data leaks happen all the time so yeah, I reccommend you just change your passwords on a regular basis
