Powerpoint presentation crashes when played via HDMI to TV on my Macbook Pro

Hello, I have a Macbook Pro (2015) running on Monterey 12.4. I have created a Power Point presentation which incorporates a lot of video clips. The presentation works absolutely fine on my Macbook but when I play the slide show on my Samsung TV via HDMI to USB C lead. A video clip will play for a few seconds and then the whole application crashes and shows the following error warning

I am not a fully paid Microsoft Office member currently and this is an old version of Office (2016) so my initial deduction was that this was the reason but that would not explain why it works fine on my mac but crashes only when played on my TV via HDMI lead.

Any help would be much appreciated as I can't find anything online to solve this problem and I have a presentation to make in a couple of weeks!!!

Thank you

Rupert

Hello Rupert,

Have you had the chance to restart your Mac since you noticed this behavior? Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

On your Mac, choose Apple menu > Restart.

Do you experience this behavior with any other apps?

How about other Powerpoint presentations?

Hopefully those details will help to isolate this further so we can provide the best guidance possible.

Take care.
