how to restore deleted text messages

In iCloud: Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID. Choose a backup. Look at the date and size of each and pick the most relevant.

In a computer: use iTunes (PC) or Finder (Mac running Catalina or later) and see the date.

when i sign into icloud i dont see dates for backups

There aren't different backups, only one that syncs with your iPhone every 24 hours as long as the iPhone is connected to power and the WiFi network with Internet access. In other words, iCloud keeps an up to date copy of your iPhone.

So, if the Messages were backed up on June 30 and you deleted them on July 1, the July 1 backup would pick up the fact that the Messages were deleted on June 30, so the Messages would be deleted on the next backup.

The same would be true if you were backing up the iPhone to a Mac or iTunes on a PC.

Now.......if......you were backing up the iPhone to a Mac......and......the Mac was backing up to another hard drive using Time Machine, you could go back into the Time Machine backups and pick up a backup file from the past and use that to restore the iPhone, because Time Machine keeps a history of backups.

From a backup you created before those messages had been deleted.

No backup = No recovery, sorry.

Back up data with iCloud.

If you deleted those messages before yestarday, you've lost them.

Have your side piece help you out and then all your stuff will be over there all in one place , comfy n cozy ahhjh
