Screen recording partially saved - device and iCloud storage both have space

Hello!

I read a past question where someone had the same issue - only the last X number of minutes of a screen recording saved.

The response given as that even with enough iCloud storage, they needed adequate device storage.

I have 37 GB free on my device and 34 GB free on iCloud, but only the last 20 minutes of a ~2 hour recording was saved. The first hour of recording went fine, then I stopped and restarted, and the final 2 hours are the ones that only partially saved.

What do I need to do differently next time so the screen records in full?

Did you iPad lock while you were recording? Let's check your lock settings:

Change when iPad automatically locks

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock, then set a length of time.

If the issue persists, can yo provide more details? Which app are you recording? Does this happen regardless of which app is being recorded? Also, when did you first notice this?
