Having trouble installing steam on my macbook? Please help...

Hello. My friend gifted me there old macbook so I wanted to install steam on it to play some games in my down time. So when on chrome and typed in strampowered.com and click on the mac version of install steam and its telling me I've got a cropped image?? I dont understand this macbook at all. Very different from what I'm used to with the windows systems and whatnot. Can anyone help me please. I would be so very grateful.

Hi, Mrfarensquare, WheelieNick is correct. To use and install the Steam Mac application, it has certain requirements.... if your MacBook doesn't meet them..... here's a link to Steam's macOS support....you need to be running macOS 10.11, it looks like.....anyways, see the link....https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/5DB9-C866-8C93-7760.... if you go to the large Apple icon at the top left of your screen and then go to "About This Mac" it'll tell you what version of the macOS you have/are running....., along with when it was manufactured, and other relevant and useful info..... I don't know anything about your MacBook, other than you have one, and that you can't install or run Steam on it.....
