Got a locked iPad at a storage locker auction

Will apple reach out to the registered user to see if it was stolen or abandined? Or if they want the device back?

I am not trying to do anything other than see if it was intentionally left behind or if they meant to get rid of it. If they want it back I can make arrangements. If not, I’d like to unlock it and wipe it.

Thank you, Hank

No. Apple will NEVER help with a locked device except with proof from the original purchaser with the original purchase receipt, clearly showing the iPad serial number on the receipt. Since that isn't you, you purchased a totally useless device, which is ONLY suitable for recycling.

Didn’t purchase it. Like I said, “Got a locked iPad at a storage locker auction.” Please read before responding.

I have been an apple product user since the late 80’s. I run my design business using all apple devices. I AM NOT STUPID.

what I am trying to do is see if I can get this iPad to the owner if they still want it.
