Video files losing Creation Dates when transferred to Mac using Airdrop

When I Airdrop videos from my iPhone to my Mac, the files show a Creation and Modification date of the time the files were transferred. This makes it very difficult to sort files for editing since I cannot determine when the video was recorded.

Why do Video files lose Creation Dates when transferred to Mac using Airdrop? Is there any way to recover the date/time so they can be sorted?

iPhone XR, iOS 15

Thanks for your response. Not sure I would call this expected behavior although I know this is what happens when video files are transferred from iPhone to Mac.

I would EXPECT the iPhone file to have the creation date/time of when the video was recorded, just as video files I copy off my camera SD card do. I understand video files do not have EXIF data, but it makes no sense that the file creation date saved on the phone would not transfer with the file when copied to the Mac.
