Why are 'Maps' and 'Stocks' automatically opening?

'Maps' and 'Stocks' are automatically opening every time I Log In to my new iMac. I DO NOT have either of these apps setup to 'Open at Login'

Why does this happen and how do I stop/prevent them from doing this?

Thanks

Hello P. Phillips,

Thanks for that suggestion. That box WAS checked. (I never paid much attention to that box before).

I unchecked it, then did two tests, 1.) log out and 2.) Shut Down.

Both times, upon restarting and logging in, the apps did NOT open, which is the result I wanted.

Thank you.

NOTE: The odd thing here is that neither app was 'open' before when I logged off and/or shut down. I would always close the apps after logging in. Never-the-less your suggestion seems to have fixed my issue. Thanks again.

You are welcome and thank you too.

Aside - Some Native Apple Application will Totally Close when the Red Close Application is invoked.

Some others like Notes, Mail and some others may appear to be closed but are actually still open.

Example in image below.

The Notes Application was Closed with Red Button and yet still appears in Dock with a Black Dot below it. This means it is closed but not not really Totally Closed
