Hello everybody!
i have a mac (monterey 12.4) that suddenly doesn't download file links of any kind- even pdf.
instead the music application automatically opens, where i see in the section of "recently added" a long link which is empty, or momentarily the file name appears in the desktop, without any result.
has anybody faced a similar issue?

Well, just to let you know, it works with a little tweaking, on firefox as well. The principle is basically the same, system preferences/general and you delete from the box with all the applications the action taken (basically the default program), when you open or download a file. You either choose the correct one, or select "always ask".

I am using firefox. I did try your suggestion in that environment, it does not seem to be the problem.
