USB 2.0 and MacBook Pro

How do I connect Superdrive to a 2021 MacBook Pro? I tried 2 adapters one with power through and one not.

Apple's should work. That's the one that Apple recommends. You're going to need an adapter. It won't accept a USB-A hub by design - powered or not.

USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple

It's a bit pricey though. I've been able to use most USB-A peripherals, although I prefer using things like native cables, which isn't an option with the USB Superdrive that has a captive cable. I have been able to use an LG DVD writer. That came with a mini-B to USB-A cable and I could use that with an adapter. But there are also mini-B to USB-C cables.
