AirTag not showing notifications on the Finder's iPhone when in Lost Mode

Hello,

we have reported the following AirTag issue to Apple and we have also discussed the matter with a specialist of our local Apple Store to no avail. Nobody had the faintest idea what causes the issue.

The problem is as follows.

I took an Airtag with me away from home and my wife at home enabled Lost Mode. While still being miles away from home I held the Airtag close to my iPhone hoping that "Find My" would display the contact details that my wife had entered when she placed the AirTag in Lost Mode.

I then drove to our local Apple Store and the technician held the AirTag to his iPhone and he also did not see a notification.

On the other hand my wife saw the precise location of the Airtag while I was in the Apple Store.

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this issue ? Why is the contact info not displayed on the finder's iPhone ?
