Display pixelated/ distorted when zooming... different from normal.

You're probably thinking I'm stupid for saying my screen gets pixelated when I zoom because that is just natural. However, this is a different kind of pixelated. I used to zoom from accessibility settings a lot to help with reading and I just noticed today that my Mac mini's screens get super blocky when I zoom in. Made sure font smoothing was enabled, any suggestions? Seems like a common issue on 12.4


Here's a picture comparing my 2014 mac mini (2x1920x1080 displays) with my old 2010 MacBook (1280x800). Both images zoomed, notice the cursor on my Mac mini as well as the Monterey logo.

UPDATE: After posting found in system preferences under accessibility, "smooth images" was disabled somehow.
