i teared off the paper covering on my airpod max case that was in the box to inspect the product. i cannot put that back on, but still have all the original packaging. can i still return it? Its still within 14 days.

If you purchased it from Apple, you have 14 days from date of purchase to return them.
If you purchased it from another retailer, website or store you need to contact them about their return policy.
