Erase Hard Drive

How doI locate hard drive on mid-2007 iMac, 8GB, 1600 MHz, DDR 3 so I an erase it

You will need to restart in the Recovery Partition (hold down Command + R on startup) , then open Disk Utility and use the Erase function on the internal HD. If the HD does not show up in DU then it is dead and formatting it is a moot point. If you do not have a Recovery Partition, then use the original DVDs that shipped with the computer and boot Mac OS from the DVD. Then open DU and Erase.
