When I wantend to add a contact for account recovery on my iPhone, I had to log out of my apple id on my iPad (which was on the same apple id). Only then i could add a contact for recovery. After that i wantend to log in again on my iPad. Only now i get the MessagePad that I cant use the apple id on devices with iOS loner than 15. The ipad cant be updated to a newer iOS however. How to solve this?

Check out If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud for some steps that may help in this situation. If still experiencing a problem, please include the exact text of the error that you're seeing and confirm you are able to sign in at other locations such as Apple ID with the Apple ID in question.
