how to delete the red dot on your voicemail

I have a red dot on my Home Screen voicemail showing me I have a voicemail ..I have never authorized a voicemail box and do not have a password..when I go to my iphone 12 settings running iOS 15.5 to change password for my voicemail it’s asking for a password which I don’t have ??..?..when I open up the icon it brings me to a call to my provider Tel-cel in Mexico and it says I am not authorized and to see my provider ..I went to see my provider and was told they cannot rid of the red dot it’s in my configuration??😳…As I said I never configured a voicemail…I have went online and tried a lot of tricks but to no avail …also I was not successful in my settings …does anyone have an answer as to remove the red dot or my voicemail completely and permanently

The voicemail indicator is ON and it is based on the signal sent by your service provider. Voicemail is a feature that is provided and managed by your cellular service provider. You have spoken to your service provider but did you ask them to reset the voicemail feature on your account? If not, then please do so. Once done then you may Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
