i suddenly have colored lines going across my screen top to bottom on left side then across the bottom
i have vertical and horizontal colored lines on my display on left and at the bottom

That can mean a graphics card fault.
You can test hardware yourself: Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support
If hardware proves to be the problem, Apple needs to evaluate it hands-on.
