Receiving calls on my Iwatch when my iPhone left behind

I bought my Iwatch so I could be out walking and not miss phone calls. I am able to make calls when I am out but do not receive calls that’s are going to my iPhone. Any ideas? Only idea I have is the SIM is assigned it’s on phone number? I am using Xfinity mobile. Model A2294

Apple Watch not able to make calls while on cellular or WiFi Have an SE cellular, I’m not sure when this started, I’m not able to receive calls while on cellular/WiFi nor I’m I able to send or receive texts. I can however receive calls. I’ve checked all my settings and can’t figure this out. Works fine when connected to the iPhone. Watch and iPhone are on the most current OS versions. Making and receiving calls on a cellular capable Apple Watch I can make outgoing phone calls on my cellular enabled Series 6 Apple Watch without having my iPhone with me. However, I cannot receive incoming calls on my Apple Watch unless I have my iPhone in close proximity. I've tried to troubleshoot this with both Apple Support and my cellular service provider and neither is able to find a reason for this condition. Hoping others have perhaps encountered this same situation. TIA for any help.

can you make a call on wifi even if you don't have a cellular plan? If I am at home and have wifi can i make a call on my watch even if it is not on my cellular plan?
