How do I get iCloud to stop uploading all my photos and videos. When I turn if off on my phone I get this message, "This iPhone was not able to download full resolution photos and videos..."

How do I get iCloud to stop uploading all my photos and videos. When I go into 'Settings' turn it off on my phone I get this message, "This iPhone was not able to download full resolution photos and videos. If you continue, the low-resolution versions of these photos and videos will be removed - Remove from iPhone".

I don't want to download them, I already have them on my desktop and the ones I have on my iPhone I want to keep...I don't want them removed, I take a lot of photos for my job so I do not want to fill up iCloud with them.

This seems like a ploy to make us keep paying for more storage. I would appreciate your assistance.

Ploy? No. If you wish to sync your photos in iCloud, you'll want to ensure that you have enough space in the cloud. If you do not wish to sync your photos, turn off the option (Settings > Photos). Be sure that you also turn off optimize photos otherwise the full-resolution versions are kept in the cloud and lower ones on your device.

Thank you again, but you're not addressing my question.

I am getting this message when I turn off iCloud from uploading my photos and videos from my iPhone.

"This iPhone was not able to download full resolution photos and videos. If you continue, the low-resolution versions of these photos and videos will be removed - Remove from iPhone".
