Try editing it out in the contacts app.

Update contact information in Contacts on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

Thank you very, very much! I had been trying to edit the contact card with the bottom right 'edit' button but the fields bellow my name just wouldn't go away & didn't accept editing or deleting. This time around, with the space bar, I managed!
