MacBook Air battery won't charge

A month ago I replaced the battery in my late 2015 MacBook Air which runs Monterey 12.4 OS. No problems at that time - battery indicator in menu bar as I conditioned new battery. The computer remained connected to mains power until we recently travelled to the Philippines. Now the battery will not charge when connected to mains power.

Computer now has very limited portability. What is the problem?

There is no battery icon in the menu bar

There is no battery appearing in the System Preferences main menu

there is no Battery option in the Dock & Menu Bar - other options (only Accessibility Shortcuts and Fast User Switching)

Screen shot of System Report - Power - Battery Information follows

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4

Hi Andy,

Did Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider replace the battery, or did you? If the latter, you should contact Apple Support and get genuine Apple battery replacement service: Get Support.

Additionally, please refer to this from Apple Support:

Beware of counterfeit parts
Some counterfeit and third party power adapters and batteries may not be designed properly and could result in safety issues. To ensure you receive a genuine Apple battery during a battery replacement, we recommend visiting an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. If you need a replacement adapter to charge your Apple device, we recommend getting an Apple power adapter.
Also non-genuine replacement displays may have compromised visual quality and may fail to work correctly. Apple-certified screen repairs are performed by trusted experts who use genuine Apple parts.

Cheers,

Jack
