Treat it like you would your wallent. You prevent your phone from being stolen by always maintaining an awareness of where it is, not leaving it sitting on tables or desks where other people can pick it up, of always making sure whatever pocket in your backpack or bag you put it in is fastened closed. There is nothing Apple can really do to help you with this.

You should also make sure it is password-protected, and that you have Find My iPhone and Two-Factor Authentication enabled. None of these features will directly prevent your iPhone from being stolen. However, they will make the phone useless to the thief and will protect your data.

If your phone is stolen and you can see its location on the map in Find My iPhone, do not attempt to retrieve it yourself. People have been killed that way. Notify the police.

Hello!

Your iPhone already has amazing security features put into place to prevent it from being stolen. Even if someone, who stole your device, factory reset the iPhone it would still have an activation lock to prevent access.

Always be sure to have a passcode set for your iPhone!

If you lost your iPhone you should follow the steps listed here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201472.

I hope this answers your question!
