Editing metadata in TV app is extremely slow
Background:
- Just got a new MacBook Pro here in summer 2022
- All of my home movies are stored on an 8TB external drive
- My previous computer was an iMac running 10.13 High Sierra
- On previous iMac I had home movies categorized as TV Shows where each year was a season
- This worked amazingly as a media organizer for my decades of movies, including using with Apple TV
- After working with Apple Support and trying a few things I gave up converting the portion of my old iTunes library (.itl) that related to my tv/movies and decided to just recreate it
Process on new MacBook Pro
- Opened TV app and unchecked the option to copy media files when adding library
- Add files to library, navigating to the external drive and selecting a folder (this works pretty fast)
- Multi-select all of the new home movies and change them to "TV Shows" (this also works fast)
- Navigate to TV Shows, multi-select all of the home movies that are now TV Shows, right-click and edit metadata for 2 items: Show and Season (takes forever!!!)
Any way to do this faster? Literally, this took over a minute per video (small files, but shouldn't matter because not copying them over) just to change the show and season.
