How do I change the cloud status from Uploaded to Matched?

I uploaded all my songs to iTunes Match and about half my songs are Matched while the other half is listed as Uploaded in the Cloud Status column. The bit rates range from 128 to 274 kbps while most are at the 256 kbps. I have cd's where half the album is listed as Matched while the other half says Uploaded. The whole cd was ripped at the sametime and the songs are at the same bit rate. I tried running Update Cloud Library, Update Genius but no changes. Genius only shows up for a small part of my listed songs. I've read through a bunch of discussions that went back to 2013 and nothing seems to be a fix for my problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Once a track is shown as uploaded, it will not be changed to matched even though the tracks are available in iTunes Store. You have a few options to try to get the tracks matched. ps backup up your existing library if not already done so.

  1. delete original from library then readd same version. You will get new add date and lose play count.
  2. Note if you use other devices, you could delete tracks from iPhone or iPad. This will change cloud status to “removed”. You then select add to library. Benefit of doing this, whilst no guarantee of match, you will retain existing metadata such as play count and date added
  3. Delete tracks and readd at 256 Kbps AAC from original CDs if you still have them. No guarantee of match but at least uploaded track will be better quality
