AirDrop not working

I am trying to send a file from my iPad Pro to my MacBook Air over AirDrop. I have used this feature successfully before. Now it's just sitting "waiting" although machines see each other, but the file never goes through.


I have signed in with the same Apple ID. I have AirDrop enabled and discoverable for Everyone on both my MacBook Air and iPad Pro. I have WiFi and Bluetooth enabled and working on both; Both are placed next to each other. I have tried with Firewall turned on and off. I have screen time enable communications to everyone for both screen and down time.


The feature is quite useless, if the user has to randomly turn on and off various security measures and seemingly unrelated features (like Screen time) compromising the machine integrity to let a file shared between machines already logged with the same Apple ID.
