CleanmyMac

I was recommended by a trusted friend to use CleanMymac. I downloaded the free version and ran a scan on CleanMyMac and it has found 3 threats. Malwarebytes has found no threats. £30 a year seems a lot to pay if it's not necessary. Does Apple recommend it?

No, CleanMyMac can do more harm than good.

3rd party Anti-Virus software is not necessary for your Mac, and can damage data on your system. macOS has it's own malware protection software included.

Same goes for 3rd party programs that claim to "optimize" your Mac.
