How to connect iphone to mac but iphone says Mac M1 not supported

How to connect iphone to mac but iphone says mac not supported. What is the workaround. Both iPhone 6s and Mac Mini M1 are up to date. Has worked before but after a work around, but I lost the instructions.

Mac mini, macOS 12.4

I don't know if it has something to do with M1. My Intel MacBook Air with Monterey did not get to connect my moms iPhone 6s either... I had to do it on my iMac running Catalina

See this link for reference, I hope this helps
