Shift-Command-5 leaves a Frozen Box on screen

Shift-Command-5 FROZEN BOX - Apple Community

I tried this solution and doesn't seem to work.

Quite easy to reproduce this issue macOS Monterey 12.4 (21F79).

Just press CMD+Shift+5 and adjust the box-area you want to capture, press enter key.

Now screen will be captured, and the box area will be left lit, and the other area dimmed on screen.

I cannot reproduce your issue. After a Command-Shift-5 screenshot, I see the preview image in the bottom right corner, which then disappear leaving the file on my Desktop.
