External monitor

Hi. I have a MacBook Air m1 2020, and I have connected an external monitor to it using a usb hub, that is a, hdmi to the usb hub.

the problem lies in the usb hub sucks in too much battery when I am away. It’s like 20% idle drain in 5 hours. Now I have to use this monitor, so I don’t want to unplug the usb hub 4-5 times a day as it’s very sturdy and I fear I might damage the MacBook port. But I also don’t want my battery to drain like crazy.

will the solution be in buying a hdmi to usb C cable? Or will it also drain power when I am away ?

I can’t seem to find any Apple branded hdmi to usb C cable, but I see a usb C hub of Apple’s on their website. Will that solve my issue?

I don’t want to drain my power when I am away, but I also don’t want to plug and unplug usb hub all day long. Please help 🥺
