I want to delete photos from my iPhone 11, but keep in cloud. When I elect to turn icloud photos Off, I am asked about downloading a copy of your icloud photos to this phone. I want to keep on icloud, not download.
iCloud is a synchronization service. If you delete photos on your device, they will also delete from iCloud. You can turn off iCloud Photos in Settings > Photos. It's always a good idea to maintain a backup of all of your most important data too.
